SHRI’s leadership team is very well-positioned to achieve its goal of “High Quality Sanitation for Everyone Everywhere”.

First, and most importantly, 65 of SHRI’s 67 full-time employees are from the communities the organization serves. As local community members, they are experts in the public health needs of their communities. Their inputs ensure that SHRI’s intervention is culturally appropriate and responsive.

Second, as SHRI’s founding director, Dr. Anoop Jain is an established social entrepreneur who has elicited numerous awards (Forbes 30 Under 30, Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award) for scaling SHRI in partnership with local government officials and community leaders. His proximity to these partners and the communities will help SHRI deploy and scale its solution.

Third, SHRI’s monitoring team, led by Mr. Nitin Kumar, has built a robust data infrastructure and dashboard that allows for real-time insights into facility performance, something that has never been done before in the context of India’s shared sanitation facilities.

Fourth, Chandan Kumar and Prabin Kumar oversee SHRI’s operations in Bihar and Jharkhand respectively. They have developed and executed SHRI’s O&M system, built SHRI’s staff training protocols that ensure facility safety and quality, and lead SHRI’s tablet-based data collection process.

Thus, SHRI’s entire team is committed to providing a preferential sanitation option for India’s poorest and most marginalized. Access to sanitation is a basic human right, and India’s most vulnerable women, children, and men deserve access to the highest quality services they can get anywhere and everywhere, be it at their place of work or play or study or dwell.
